Hold the button til it beeps 1 then 2 times the letgo when it asks for you to hit the ps button do it and your in safe mode. If u have removed and replaced the hdd have u tryed using safe mode and USB UPDATE MAKE SURE U have same amount of data on USB as file has mine keeps coming up 4 bits less than originally on the original file and folders hope you have better luck with it using Sony update and no matter same result 4 mb's of data short and it says corrupt file and puts me back in update : this is a friend's PS3 this time same beginning different ending no matter what still trying have faith it will happen.
